Blue Bage fraudsters in Croydon have been slapped with well deserved criminal records and ordered to pay almost £6,000 as London cracks down on blue badge related crimeSeven Blue Badge cheats have been taken to court by Croydon Council after being caught misusing blue badges by BBFi investigators.

The town hall says it is taking a “zero-tolerance approach” to drivers who wrongly use the badges and there are 20 more prosecutions scheduled over the next three months. Since May the council in collaboration with BBFi has challenged more than 90 people, seized 32 cars, crushed three vehicles and confiscated over 70 misused Blue Badges as part of the blitz.

This progress is a testament to what can be achieved when we work together. But the fight is far from over. Blue Badge theft remains a serious issue, and we’re calling on everyone to join us in taking action, reporting fraud when you see it, and  of course highlighting the need for enforcement to your Local MPs.  Together, we can combat Blue Badge fraud and ensure the independence and safety of disabled individuals across the UK as a whole.
