Working in half of all London local authorities, conducting thorough blue badge investigations, proactively investigating criminal offences, and preparing cases for prosecution. If you’re an ex-police officer and you’re interested in a role working directly with local authorities to protect disabled people’s rights, we want to hear from you.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Plain cloths positions available in various boroughs around London.
Flexible hours from 8 hours to 32 hours over a seven-day cycle.
Employed or self-employed.
The main duties of this role will include:
- Investigating and generating leads about the misuse of blue badges
- On street identification of blue badge fraud,
- Monthly reports
- Arrange proactive operations with the police and other agencies
- Prepare criminal cases for traffic offences or fraud
- Attend court as a witness
- Contract management
Essential Qualifications and experience
- Previous career within the police (minimum 8 years), including traffic law enforcement
- Ability to walk a long-distance checking badges
- Defuse volatile situations
- Basic understanding of the blue badge scheme,
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic,
- Criminal case preparation and report writing.
- Must be computer literate (SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word)
Desirable
Experience of working with the disabled. Traffic or foot patrol officer
